  20. sounds like tendinitis, m'lud. As we get older, it's more common, unfortunately. You HAVE to stop exercising the inflamed area until it heals up. It will heal up, it's only tendinitis, after all. But it takes a long time. Maybe 2-3 months.
    If you return to weight bearing or gripping before even a trace of pain is left. it'll come back again and again and again and eventualkly result in permanent cell breakdown around the affected area. (= More pain!!) It's a royal pain in the arse, but it will clear. But you need to lay off the push/pull ups and find alternative ways to exercise for a while.

  109. There were two other books from the trilogy that were not made in to film: "The Subtle Knife" and "The Amber Spyglass".
    Jack's visit was an opportunity for us to meet in person and offered a quiet repose from the stressors of his daily life. I am glad he came to visit. While here I believe he gained perspective and reconnected with others important to him. He was a delightful guest, and I feel I have made a life-long friend.

By those standards, Jack is probably the most self-realized man in modern history. I've been in enough fights to know that Hope and Fear are really two sides of the same coin. They both look to a probable future. Hoping it'll get better and Fearing that it won't. Both of them take you out of the present, and take your head out of the fight. That's when you get blindsided by the shot that drops you. Breathe deep. Don't hope. Don't fear. Be present. Infinite opportunities open up around you when you sit at the Center.

    I'm where you were 15 years ago but I'm coming out of it. I let go of all of my possessions. It seemed like every tangible item I laid my hand to wasn't real and that I had manifested all of it. It felt like I was blind. It has been equally terrifying to interact with the "people" who have no idea what's really happening. In my mind I kept repeating "THEY ARE PROPS." I don't recommend doing that because it drove me nuts. I also encountered a lot of what I can only describe as paranormal before fleeing my residence. The only practical advice I've given to myself is to learn some measure of acceptance. Most of my memories bring up feelings of loss and grief but I think that is a product of present moment despair rather than an accurate survey of my life. I was chastised by one of the other commenters for speaking of hope and at one point I abandoned it. I have reacquired a little hope today. I like this quote:
    "It is only when we've lost everything that we are free to do anything."

  139. Dear Sam, actually, We have no specific beef with J.L.L. at all. Just putting tongue in cheek, rather. I've read his book—Not In His Name—and found it a most acceptable piece of scholarship in my humble opinion; Anon., bless him, is still reading that c********r Stephen King.

    However, Lash is way off on his Church History, which is understandable and forgivable in this modern day and Age. Most of history, as well as ‘the news’, has been faked and falsified anyhoos, as most people on here are aware. It's hard to get your hands on the good stuff. But there are gems still out there in the mainstream—e.g. 'Fr. Ernetti's Chronovisor' (for those who dare), everything by Gabriel Amorth (scary stuff), Mike Cremo, and nearly everything by Malachi Martin, among others. As well as many more specialist tomes that are hard to find nowadays.
    You see, there was a grumpy, humourless, know-it-all kind of chappie on these threads a while back who was knowledgeable along certain, narrow and obsolete lines having to do with Gnosticism—a now defunct and totally discredited world view incorporating, among other things, a completely incorrect interpretation of the nature of the God-Head, and of the ultimate source of Good and Evil.; which is fine by us: Free countries and all that. But when said individual started insulting Xians and, less explicity, Catholics while at the same time betraying woeful gaps in his cultural/historical/theological knowledge of same, it was time for us to step in.
    (For example, he confuses Ignatius of Antioch with Ignatius of Loyola! Talk about chalk n’ cheese, eh? I know~~ And also struggles to grasp the relationship between faith and reason, and other [admittedly boring] stuffs like that.)

Did you know I sleep in the daytime when I can and I try to work at night but apparently Optimum is unable to provide the services they were contracted to provide; namely Twin Peaks on Showtime.
